And all I can do is fantasize about a painful castration and facial mutilation for this dumbass.
We put a man on the moon over three decades ago, and we still can't prevent credit card fraud before the damn thief gets away with the merchandise.
I just got another reversal through an online retailer of my fonts. This sh*thead has my fonts illegally:

CHICAGO, IL, US cctype: Visa ccref: 5873 (I think this is the last 4 numbers of the visa he swiped)
I doubt the email address is legit.

I don't understand it. Isn't the bank responsible to check if the cardnumber exist or not?
Maybe you need a new policy, no one get a thing before you know the payment is valid?
Let's spank him and tease him with big bananas and feed him with catworms.

I like the thought of feeding him catworms. :-) And cucumbers hurt more than bananas, er, howabout those oversize zucchini thatare in every midwestern garden in the summer? Oh, here's an evil thought...he's supposedly from Chicago. Here's hoping he was one of the people killed this past weekend when scaffolding blew off the Hancock building. I know, it's a longshot. (And he's probably not from Chicago, either...that's probably the poor guy who he stole the card from).
Unfortunately, I'm afraid a policy like that would be too cumbersome and I'd loose LOTS of my business. Most people want things asap, and this most recent incident is from MyFonts where they can download the merchandise immediately upon credit card verification. If I don't use MyFonts, or Kagi, (the other order processor that I had a fraudulent order through last month), I'd only have PayPal (which is still susceptible to the same problem as Kagi) or the time-consuming pay-by-check method, and that would eliminate a lot if my business. So although this does happen once and a while, it's better than going without it, if that makes sense.
I just don't know why the credit card companies that these places (Kagi, MyFonts, etc.) use can't implement a password. If you buy something online, or anywhere, you have to enter a password that only YOU the owner of said card knows. If you don't know it, no cigar (or fonts).

I don't know, I haven't tried cucumbers ;o)) Once I went to a store and asked for a banana "it doesn't have to be so big, cause I'm going to eat it" ;o]
I guess it's better to lose some money then because of morons than losing lots of money because less customers. Anyway, isn't there a register or page somewhere on the web where such morons can be posted with all known information so other artists/designers/programmers can check now and then? If not, there should be.

I don't know of such a place in an official capacity...maybe a bunch of personal pages that list them though. I just wish the Credit Card verifying technology would get its act together. Maybe I don't understand what would all be involved, but how hard would a password system be to implement? Grrr.

It can't be too hard to make a more secure system so people at least know if they get the money or not.
