Natasha, our first cat, did the same thing, except she did it on ME when I was wearing black clothing. We suspected her mother was black or dark-colored. She was a black and rusty semi-long hair tortie. This kitty snuggle bed that Apollo has is cream-colored, so we suspect his mother was light-colored like him.
When he's in his nursey mode (they say it's from having been weaned too young...none of our grey-cats did/do it) he's practically hypnotized. He can snap out of it very quickly and become demonspawn from hell.
Yesterday and today Lucifer Sam stared at him when he was nursing, sort of puzzled by it. It's really the only time the Pug can get up close to him and look at him without Demonspawn attacking him. Yes, this cat attacks the dogs. I think it's playful. He wants them to play. But Lucifer Sam doesn't really understand playful kittens. We got him when the other cats, even Caligula, were really past their playful stages. Plato understands playful kittens better beacuse when he was two, we got Caligula. I am amazed at how well Plato does with this little guy--they really get along quite well.
Apollo is now integrated into the house with the rest of the animals. He sleeps with Caligula a short ways away on the futon.
I want one of those kitty bag beds for myself, except human-sized. Why don't they make them? Blankets aren't the same thing. You sit on a couch and put a blanket on you, but it's only on the top of you. Your legs dangle over the side and the underside of them get cold. Not with a superplush human-sized kitty bag bed! You crawl in it, and it's sort of like a sleeping bag, but without the uncomfortable zippers and plaid flannel lumpy interior. It conforms more to your body, it's not as stiff and bulky as a sleeping bag.
Can someone please manufacture this? I really need one for nights like these.
Sometimes I wish I sewed just so I could make my own cat toys and the superplush human-sized kitty bag bed. However I absolutely HATE sewing. I got a sewing machine to use with art once (sewing paper together) but don't use it anymore because even in the production of art I found sewing to be one of the worst activities ever.

I want such a bed too, in red plush, like some fluffy pornnest from the 70s, just that mine will be filled with books and a coffeemachine and a little readinglamp, and the cats of course, and maybe Ane.
I suddenly remember when we were kids and putted blankets over a table so it hung down on the sides, and one could just lay under there for hours and read cartoons using a flashlight, almost like sleeping in a tent, always loved that.
It's good your furry kids are getting along good. I wish my cats would sleep together, but they fight alot.
I think it's funny with sewmachines, all though once I wanted to sew a button into a shirt, I managed to attach the fabric too my finger.

I think you're supposed to manually sew buttons on shirts...it would be quite challenging to sew a button with a machine. That sounds painful. I hate needles, and I've always been paranoid of a sewing machine needle going through my finger. I rarely even sew to mend something...I can't thread needles anymore due to my eyesight, so I have an excuse.
The cosinessfactor in such a nest would be incredibly high. Imagine if one also could have a muffinsmachine in there with buttons to choose between blueberry muffins and chocolate. OMG. I would never come out of there again.
Yes, sewing a button on ones finger doesn't feel very good, but later it's funny. I don't like to sew either, but I once did some needlework, I might take a photo of it and post it on my journal ;)
But with food in drink one would also have to have a potty. And then it wouldn't be as cozy.
I like the idea and I think it would be a great way to comfortably sleep.
Ok, and when I was tired I would miss the potty and pee on the plush, which would turn cosiness into grossiness faster than I can say cookie.

I have that exact same bag bed for molly! I love it! The kids tried to steal it from her and use it to keep their feet warm. You are right, a big giant bag like that would be sooo cool. I don't sew much either. I have sewn one thing in the past 15 years and it was Brandy's Pebbles Flintstone Halloween costume. :D
When C comes home, she sleeps on top of his suitcase thing, and if its open, she crawls inside it. Any towels, blankets pillows left in the oddest of spots attracts her attention and she will claim them.
